Having AI working locally and providing possibility to turn it off looks much better than having other proprietary browsers with closed code base from big vendors (Edge, Chrome, Safari) which collect all possible information about you and send to their data centres and having no way to turn it off. Just a matter of choice. :) |

You can ask Gemini one easy question and get way more information than you can trying to type something in Google search and get a lot of garbage and hardly anything useful. If you don't like seeing the Ai, just close the side bar. I barely use search anymore. You can't type whole sentences in search and get anything useful. Try to use the tech first to see how it can be helpful, It's free. I wish I could give achernyakevich-sc two votes. |

I am sorry, but I have to add something to this whinny stuff about " contributes unnecessarily to pollution and water waste.". So go ahead and toss your hair dyer, power tools, refrigerator, deep freeze, tv, stereo, etc;, you know, those things that use electricity. FYI, the free Ai actually helps in that department as it helps you be more productive and get things done faster. That mean less time using search, going to countless sites spending 20-50 time more effort to find the exact same info you can find in 20 seconds. Think of it. 2-5 hours of searching and researching instead of 20 seconds. How much does that save on computer and monitor electricity, per person, world wide. That is what it takes to actually stop and think about it before you slam something that you have not considered all/any advantages. |

I love almost everything Mozilla has done and really appreciate their quality-of-life and privacy centered model. But they keep adding AI to their browser and extensions. Useless and contributes unnecessarily to pollution and water waste. At this point I am considering switching to another browser entirely.
