Faster/smoother scrubbing?

So in mac's "preview" app when I scrubbe forward the playback is super smooth, like I'm playing at x2, x4, etc... I'm using the iina front-end there and is not as smooth. On windows I use actual mpv with uosc skin and I tried gpu and gpu-next, but scrubbing and doing so forward is not as good. I tested with the same video on both machines, the windows is a 9th gen i7 with nvidia 1650, while the mac is a low power i5 from 2017 heavily underclocked to not heat, so I'm pretty sure is not the machine or OS fault.

I noticed using videos which are encoded with editing codecs, like mjpeg goes very smooth in both directions, but I think something like h264 could at least be smooth moving forward. Is it possible that there's some setting that could make that smoother? Specially in relatively shot videos under a minute or 30 seconds.

Nahh, it was too good to be true. This doesn't seem to improve it (or worsen it), but at least I can do scrubbing quite fast unlike VLC
