HDR , KDE 6.4 and HDR calibration.

How are you guys dealing with this ?
For a little context please read this
My point is that the second slider of the HDR calibration tool also changes mpv video content brightness and I have no clue if my HDR presentation is correct or not.
Is there some video "pass-through" mode just for testing? I'm missing references of what should be a correct HDR presentation.

It seems to be 203nits to output correct brightness for HDR contents.

Sure, but without some kind of 'video pass-through mode,' you can’t have your 'SDR' desktop inside HDR at 100 nits while also having HDR movies display correctly. I was hoping for a way to completely bypass these 'brightness' sliders when watching HDR movies , similar to how audio bitstreaming works with AVRs.

Also you can let MPV playback doesn’t follow OS reference SDR brightness level: #16814 (comment)

I gave up on trying to play HDR videos on my computer, at least for now, after seeing how they’re supposed to look with a dedicated standalone player that simply passes the data through untouched.

Actually let mpv do the tone mapping would get better result than direct source pass-through in most cases.

I'm not even remotely worried about tone mapping on my setup.
kde hdr calibration sliders touch the hdr presentation and I'm not going back to windows. The external player solution works fine with the added benefit of gaining dolby vision support.
