How to work with multiple portable versions ?

I just updated to mpv 0.40.0 from an older version ( 0.32.0 )

Both are portable versions.
I've got them from here: https://www.videohelp.com/software/mpv-media-player

I'm on Windows 10.

With the first portable version used the right click cmd "open with" to select the "mpv.exe" file, and it worked great !
All video thumbnails have the little mpv logo, and I can open them just with double click.

With the new version I tried the same thing: "open with", and then select the new "mpv.exe" file.
But the file opens with the old portable version !

The only way I can use the new version is by double clicking the new "mpv.exe" file, and dragging the video files.

Is there a way to solve this without messing with the Windows Registry ?

It would be nice to add a practical example of how to do this in the documentation, for users less familiar with the cmd line. 

It seems, we need to register every file extension, individually ? 

If we already have an old version in the "open with list", could it be possible to just change the path of the "mpv.exe" file, instead ?
Can we do that with --register-rpath ?

I'm asking, because I also figured out a workaround, but it's not perfect, because of the path name.
 
Changing the name of the new "mpv.exe" folder to the name of the old one, does the job. 

This could be a nice way to add a new portable versions, while keeping the old ones as backup.
Just name the folder "open with mpv" ( or something like that ), and put the latest version there. 

In my case, unfortunately the name was already "mpv-0.32.0-x86_64", when I added it to the "open with" list, so it's a bit confusing. 
So it would be nice to be able to change the path name, instead of having folders with the wrong names.
