but why it does not display HW in OSD states when without any config,
so when no config, it seems unable to see what HW is ? or only in verbose debug from cmd? is it inconvenient? should it be always printed in OST states no matter if hwdec in set?

HW means which hwdec is used. Default config doesn't enable any hwdec.

then, if it's good to mark it as no on OSD to let all users know, and if it's software decoding or hardware decoding is also a key factor for media players, and this way also is following how it is in settings --hwdec= no: always use software decoding (default)

and for profile=gpu-hq, the gpu-hq profile is called "gpu“ but it doesn't set mpv to use gpu with like --hwdec=auto, should this be improved? if so, should vo=gpu-next be added since it's called "hq"? but
