Heavy memory hole when i try to play a 4k uhd video

Reproduction Steps

Try to play a 4k UHD / HDR video

Expected Behavior

Video is playing

Actual Behavior

When trying to play certain 4k UHD x265 video file, there is nothing showing in the mpv term and video is not playing. I check my system monitor and mpv is eating ram like crazy until my pc hang severally.
Then i need to kill mpv process.

I tried with --no-config or with hwdec disable without success. I thought it could be HDR related but 4k SDR video show the same issue. 1080p and below are playing fine. Then i realize AV1 and X265 encoded 4k uhd seems to play fine, bluray remux seems to be the issue.

I carefully read all instruction and confirm that I did the following:

• I tested with the latest mpv version to validate that the issue is not already fixed.
• I provided all required information including system and mpv version.
• I produced the log file with the exact same set of files, parameters, and conditions used in "Reproduction Steps", with the addition of --log-file=output.txt.
• I produced the log file while the behaviors described in "Actual Behavior" were actively observed.
• I attached the full, untruncated log file.
• I attached the backtrace in the case of a crash.

mpv shouldn't be leaking but in any case, we're going to need a sample file and what exact combination of settings causes the problem for you. The log you attached wasn't --no-config but set a ton of options related to video output.

As i said i also try --no-config and it's doing the same. Same thing with mpv derived player like Haruna.
I check my ssd in case there is some errors in my fs. Also VLC is reading the problematic files perfectly so the issue is related to mpv for sure.

I get issues with mpv anyway. Stuttering in wayland with 24hz playback so i am using X11 again (no stuttering in X11) but i get cracking with audio.

I'll try to make a sample with ffmpeg of the file.

It seems i solve this...
I remux the file with ffmpeg and now mpv can read it. These problematic files were remux with mkvtoolnix a few month ago and somehow this mkvtoolnix version produce incompatibility with mpv.

There's still no sample or a --no-config log so this issue isn't actionable on mpv side.
