Show Most Used Apps First in the List
Description
To improve usability and help users quickly manage the apps that distract them the most, the app list should prioritize the most used apps at the top.
Proposed Approaches
Option 1 – Usage Statistics (Preferred)
Retrieve device usage statistics and sort the apps by usage time. This ensures the most frequently used apps appear first, making it easier for users to manage the apps that consume most of their time.
Option 2 – Predefined List of Distracting Apps
Maintain a predefined list of commonly distracting apps (e.g., social media, video platforms, etc.) and display them first in the list. This approach acts as a fallback if usage statistics are not available.
Expected Behavior
- Apps are ordered so that the most relevant or distracting ones appear first.
- If usage statistics are available, sort by usage time.
- Otherwise, prioritize apps from the predefined “distracting apps” list.
Benefits
- Reduces friction for users when selecting apps to manage.
- Surfaces the most relevant apps immediately.
- Improves overall user experience and efficiency.
