Could not load hotbar_selected image for some games

When I launch the game VoxelGame or Mineclonia, I have this error

2024-06-30 22:43:14: ERROR[Main]: generateImage(): Could not load image "gui_hotbar_selected.png" while building texture; Creating a dummy image

I don't have the issue when I play on minetest game.

Is the fix to have this image in the code of the mod ?

That generateImage() error is a weird one. I've had it for various images of various mods.
The strange part is, that it can show up when joining the same server without anything having changed on the server.
Sometimes it has helped to restart the client and log in again. Other times I have had the error for dozens of logins and then suddenly it has disappeared without any change to the server or client.

If you didn't mess with the mod after installing it, all should be fine. Textures are normally in the textures directory of the mod.

You could copy the .png file to your texture-pack directory and activate that texture-pack.
Maybe that helps in your case.

As mentioned, for me patience has eventually helped. Maybe some cache file of the client got corrupted and you could speed up the healing by deleting those, but IDK.

it seems the minclon*s use a textures called mcl_inventory_hotbar_selected.png, seems like the perfect thing for xcompat to add to its texture api

In this case maybe. I stand by my comment though, it has happened to me and others without changes to the server.
