Not working as expected:

$ cat resources/data/example-json-docker-network-inspect.json | scryer-prolog -f scripts/find_container_data.pl -g main
main causes: error(syntax_error(unexpected_end_of_file),$get_n_chars/3)

To be clear I don't care if it's pio or any other method, I just can't figure out how to get a stream into a string!

PS: Just in case, your anything//1 is in dcgs module/library as seq//1.

PS2/BTW: I don't use SWI-Prolog, but I tried your program with it (I added only :- use_module(library(pio))) and, interestingly enough (for me, a naive Prolog user and a big fan of the pio library), the program, the Linux pipes, worked there.

Thank you for reporting this, I have filed #2867 which I think is the reason for this.

One naming convention I found useful is the run/0 predicate to run the program in the intended way. To be invoked with scryer-prolog -g run FILE, note that the -g switch, as a Scryer-specific switch, should be placed in front of the file(s) whereas application-specific switches come after the files.

As a workaround until the underlying issues are corrected, maybe you can pass the file name as an argument to the application, and use phrase_from_file/2 instead? You can use argv/1 from library(os) to access the command line arguments that are given to the application.
