App requires unlock when trying to use template in add transaction shortcut

I am using the My Expenses app v4.0.4.1 running Android 12 on a OnePlus Nord. I have the app lock enabled. I also have the add new transaction shortcut enabled.

When I try to add a transaction via the shortcut, it usually does not expect me to unlock the app in order to add the transaction. When I try a use a template, it requires me to unlock the app, though. Is there a specific reason for this?

I wonder if it would be more hassle free if the app doesn't require unlocking when trying to use the template too.

I am a bit lost about what you mean by trying a template? Both the account widget and the template widget should have the same behavior that depends on the configuration of Security / Privacy -> Widgets -> Data entry from widgets and shortcuts
I guess you are not referring to the Template shortcut, because it actually does not require unlock, though maybe it should.

To be more precise, the behavior is different depending on the template's default action. If it is "Edit", the "Data entry from widgets and shortcuts" setting is respected, if it is "Save", it is not.

My mistake. I actually intended to mean the 'New transaction' shortcut cut but somehow mentioned it as the widget instead. I'll edit the title and description.

When I try to add the transaction via the 'Nee transaction' shortcut while the app is locked, I can do most stuff without unlocking the app. When I try to use a template for that transaction by tapping on one of the templates via the template menu, I am asked to unlock the app.

I hope this is more understandable.

Thanks for the explanation. I understand that you are referring to selecting a template from the menu on the Transaction screen, and can reproduce the problem.
