Error With 70CDR+ Effects onto 50G+

The following error will pop up in the command line when adding certain effects

Traceback (most recent call last):

File "zoomzt2-gui.py", line 168, in butSelect

self.text_ctrl_1.SetValue(tail + " = " + config['name'])

TypeError: can only concatenate str (not "bytes") to str



The following effects give this error (not a full list, just the ones I have tested)
CAVE
Shimmer
ReverseRv

I had a quick check with MS70CDR+ (forgot to grab my MS60B)... and the most recent code in GitHub did not have this issue.

But if I rewound a bit to the 'v1.0.0' tag (as per 'pre-built" zip), it DID have the issue... so it means that it's already been fixed and I just didn't remember the issue. We're probably overdue a new release.

As a side to the stuff about 'target bits'; I also added some extra debugging to include the bitfield in effect summary

$ python3 decode_effect.py --summary --target ReversRv.ZD2 
0x09000150 : ReversRv.ZD2, Reverse Rev (v1.00 20.11%), 0x00000090

I'm getting the same message except i'm using the exe file:

Now about that "exe" file. it's not included in ZT2 here. there is no folder called "build" in the repository here. i.e running the .bat file calls a folder that doesn't exist. somewhere else on the interwebs i found the 'v1.0.0' and that's what i used. any help appreciated. All i want to do is put the Spring63.ZD2 into my ms-50G+. thanks in advance.

@mungewell I'm still trying to locate the files here that the zoomzt2-gui.bat file requires:

@artkearney The build\exe.win-amd64-3.12\zoomzt2-gui.exe is part of the 'pre-built' zip file, which is intended for people who don't want to use Python (and thus have to find/install the required modules).

If you are using the Python method then you can run app directly from command line with python3.exe zoomzt2-gui.py.

I see how the '.bat' file might be confusing, so I'll see if I can have it auto-detect whether the user is using 'pre-built' or 'python'.

thanks for reply!  yes, not using python, def windows exe for me... but there is no prebuilt zip file in the repository at https://github.com/mungewell/zoom-zt2. should i be looking somewhere else for it?  thanks in advance.
