[Bug]: AutoPilot Widget Not Working with Signal K Autopilot in v2 Autopilot API mode

Bug Description

I have an existing AutoPilot Widget that works great with my Raymarine Pilot and shows controls for +1, -1, +10, -10, Tack etc just like the real controller. However, I have tried to add another Autopilot Widget on a new dashboard, and all the +- and Tack buttons are missing. The Mode Standby and Disengage buttons are present as is the Wind Indicator.

Both Widgets are set to

• API Version: V2
• Plugin: autopilot

When I look at the Paths, they are totally different. The original working one has items such as:

• Rudder Angle
• Heading Magnetic
• Heading True
• Wind Angle Apparent
• Wind Angle True Water
• Autopilot State
• Autopilot Target Heading Mag
• Autopilot Target Wind Angle Apparent

But when I look at the newly added widget it has the following paths:

• Magnetic Heading
• True Heading
• Apparent Wind Angle
• Wind Angle True Water

Have tested the above on my home test rig with the same results.

Steps to Reproduce

Add the Autopilot Head Widget to a new dashboard then check the available paths, the autopilot paths are not present

Ran a quick test with the autopilot emulator on my test rig, and when I switch to this autopilot, the +- and tack buttons magically appear, but all the autopilot specific paths are still missing

You probably see differences between both widget because your older dashboard uses configuration that you have migrated over time.

There are fewer paths that require configuration in the recent releases.

I'm not 100% sure how your older AP is working with API v2 because last I checked there was an issue in the Signal K Autopilot plugging when it's running in V2 mode.

Autopilot V2 API has been validated with pypilot plugin so far.

Try setting the Signal K AP plugin in v1 API mode and it should work until this bug is resolved.

I'll follow up and see if we can get this v2 api fixed.

Hi,

Before anything else, a massive thanks for all your work on KIP, it's awesome.

Whilst I tested autopilot control in the marina, as it in seems to turn the wheel, I have not tested out of the water since last year, so it may not actually be working after recent updates. Do I need to install Pypilot to work with my Raymarine Pilot, don't believe I have it installed on the boat. Will be back on the boat in two weeks to test.

The pypilot plugin is only for the pypilot hardware.

The Signal K Autopilot plugin if the one you need for Raymarine seatalk1, n2k AP hardware and NAC-3 Simard hardware.

You should have an option to set the plugin in API v1 mode I think.
