Aura Theme Issues

I had to install additional dependencies not listed in the dependency list. Namely

• gtk3
• playerctl
• xss-lock

I was also unable to get the theme running. There was a consistent naughty error displayed saying:

error loading module 'liblua_pam' from file '/home/user/.config/awesome/liblua_pam.so':
            liblua.so.5.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
/home/user/.config/awesome/ui/bar/mods/task.lua:310: attempt to concatenate a nil value (field 'fg')

does liblua_pam.so exist? there also can be a bug where liblua_pam.so was compiled by a different version of lua than yours.
compile it by yourself at https://github.com/RMTT/lua-pam (with the same lua version with which awm was compiled) and place it at .config/awesome/liblua_pam.so
else, test this out with xephyr and send the entire stack trace

i had this same issue some days ago, tried add liblua_pam on nix pkgs, some different versions of lua but not work

Also, the icons were not working properly, some were overlapping and others were not showing up properly

icons not being displayed is just a font issue. else for the liblua things show the xephyr stack trace

Even better to use awmtt-ng or another awmtt like script that wraps the Xephyr command specifically for testing AwesomeWM since it:
- spares the complexities of Xephyr for the uninitiated or those who [don't remember | have an alias] for using it in this context
- doesn't take up much space (I keep a copy in my awesomewm configuration in the bin directory)
- easy to verify this, or any other, via any chat bot (just in case you are worried about the security of said scripts).

Or you could learn Xephyr from the ground up and how to employ it in the awesome specific context, which is a lot more effort but is a more significant set of skills to obtain. choice is yours.
