Apple Pay says Payment not Processed when using Node 18

Hi,
We want to switch to Node 18, but react-native-payments stops working for Apple Pay.
The same setup works fine on node 14, but on Node 18 the Apple Pay modal says Payment not Processed.
I'm using a physical iPhone 8 with iOS 16 and a sandbox Apple Pay account, which work fine with Node 14.
React Native is 0.70.5.

Did anyone else have a similar issue?
