Did Databricks buy Neon to halt development? #12870

There’s no public evidence that Databricks acquired Neon or halted its development. A slowdown in GitHub activity doesn’t necessarily mean the project is abandoned. In many cases: active development shifts to private repos/internal branches Also, Databricks and Neon operate in adjacent but not identical spaces (data platform vs serverless Postgres), so an acquisition purely to “kill competition” would be unlikely without any public announcement. If anything, it’s more reasonable to assume development is ongoing but not fully visible in this repo. |

I hadn't heard of Databricks, but it looks like they do the same thing Neon does. With the sudden, prolonged lack of development, I have to wonder if Databricks bought out Neon to reduce competition. Was this repository abandoned due to its Apache license, and is Neon being developed privately at Databricks?
