Untraceable segmentation fault during

Describe the bug
A segmentation fault occurs when running our script. We don't have more information to go on yet.

To Reproduce
The full issue is described here: dbbs-lab/bsb-core#916

1. Set up Python 3.10 virtual environment
2. Install NEST with Python env active and: cmake -Dwith-mpi=on, followed by make install -j
3. pip install bsb[nest,parallel]
4. python -n 6 ataxia_sim.py (our python script)
