iOS version: 26.5
Netbird Client version: 0.2.0
Issue:
When using lazy connections, the connection to a peer often fails to activate when an app or the os attempts to access a resource over the wireguard connection.
The work around is to turn the Netbird VPN connection off and on again. This is incompatible with using VPN On Demand as it takes away manual control.
Stop-gap Suggestion:
Add a button in the app to force the refreshing of a P2P connection with a peer.
Other thoughts:
Whilst the lazy connections feature mostly resolves the battery use issue, it does seem to be a bit hit or miss (I am aware that it is an experimental feature).
If the issue is that it is difficult to reproduce bugs to identify the cause I would be happy to help with capturing examples of the bugs occurring.
