freetube: cannot open external player (mpv)

Freetube doesn't open external player (mpv). There's no errors from the CLI and it appears no mpv process is started. When I run it without firejail, it opens fine. I'm on firejail latest version 0.9.74 and in my freetube.local I've also tried private-bin /usr/bin/mpv.

Any ideas?

Freetube doesn't open external player (mpv)

For debugging, you could try to run mpv with the freetube profile and comment
lines in it until it works. Example:

firejail --private-bin=mpv --profile=freetube /usr/bin/mpv

Also, note that there is nothing explicitly allowing mpv in freetube.profile,
so that's probably related to why it doesn't work.

All the profiles are standard and i have custom freetube.local with additional options which was able to silence some of the errors to get to the output of the above commands:

Of note: I have ~/bin/mpv sh script (highest precedence in $PATH) that just runs /usr/bin/mpv. The script is linked to /usr/local/bin/mpv. It's a wrapper shell script shared across my machines runs mpv conditionally with some machine-specific args, none in this case.

Same here. ChatGPT for many hours coudn't solve it either, just tried everything what is in my mind.
As soon as the Freetube.profile is being changed nothing seems so work.
It would be lovely if someone with a functional profile could post it so many hundred hours can be saved.
