Contact query_params

Hi all

I have a custom field on contact called EmployeeID which is marked as a unique field,

the docs say query_params can be what may make an object unique in their environment. but doesn't provide an example

am I setting it to
set(["cf_employeeID" ]) ?

any guidance would be appreciated
