Device with 2 device slots containing sub devices of 0.5 width each.

I cannot get this to work. I created a shelf device on Netbox 4.5.3 containing 2 slots, with 1U and width of 1. I then created the device to slot into slots with subdevice_role: child, 0U, and width : 0.5

My problem is that the Device Bays are there on the shelf device, but I cannot populate it by any means with the device I created.

I do not get "Parent device" in the UI when I open the Child device to select Slot from parent device. I did not have the child in any rack or position. The shelf device had been racked so it should have worked according to ChatGPT - does not!
