How is this relevant to NetBox? NetBox has been supporting (Data Center) Inventory Management for a long time, so its users and developers should be able to contribute their knowledge and experience to the ivy WG in the IETF. Conversely, this IETF activity might inform the evolution of NetBox's DCIM data models. And depending on IVY YANG model adoption in the industry, it might make sense at some point for NetBox to add support for producing and consuming network inventory information according to these conventions.
I'm leaving this here FYI. Engaging with IETF standardization processes can be frustrating, and can be rewarding. Happy to discuss.

The IETF ivy (Network Inventory Yang) WG was chartered in June 2023 to develop YANG modules for network inventory management. It conducts its work on the inventory-yang mailing list, through face-to-face and virtual meetings, and on GitHub under github.com/ietf-ivy-wg. The WG builds on RFC 8348: A YANG Data Model for Hardware Management and RFC 8345: A YANG Data Model for Network Topologies. In December 2023, the WG adopted draft-y3bp-ivy-network-inventory-yang-00, which will be republished as draft-ietf-ivy-network-inventory-yang for further discussion.
