NetBox maintainers meeting minutes, 25 Apr 2024

[Meta] Last week's meeting did not take place due to multiple absences and lack of agenda items.

[Jeremy] Transifex auto-syncing of translations appears to be working

• Next languages to add?
• ↳ Jeff: We plan to add a question about UI languages to the 2024 community survey, and can use the learning from the responses to guide us. We will word it carefully to be sure we ask the right question.
• ↳ The team did not have clear ideas about which translations to prioritize.
• ↳ Judging from members already joined to existing teams, the order might be Russian (26 members), Japanese (8 members), French (7 members)
• ↳ We've had plenty of recent interest in Ukrainian, which does not yet have a team on Transifex. Also Chinese, which does not yet exist on Transifex.
• ↳ Current list of open translation issues for the curious
• ↳ Jeff invited Dan to our project in Transifex. Dan will explore and see about getting into the Japanese translation as time allows.
• ↳ Note there's a netbox-cn project in Transifex which uses our logo but is not us; netbox-community is the correct team for anybody looking to join.

[Dan] Couple of PRs to discuss

• Closes: #9583 - Add column specific search field to tables #15073
• ↳ Arthur: Looks close to mergeable, will recheck the code. Only outstanding issue appears to be an existing issue.
• Fixes #11460 - Fix unterminated cable exception when editing cable #15813
• ↳ Arthur: Haven't looked yet, will take a look.

[Arthur] Beta feedback

• Volume of feedback for 4.0-beta2 has been lower than for b1.
• Total 11 open. 7 are bugs, and of those just 4 need PRs.
• Overall think we're in pretty good shape.
• Dan: The bug No GUI activity indication if HTMX rendering is enabled #15762 regarding lack of feedback on background operations is kind of feature-y but we'll carry on. It's totally valid and should be easy to address.
