Passing User information when rendering a config

Hello.
I would like to be able to know which user ran a "render config" action.

In the template I would like to have "Rendered by 'user1'" with user1 being the username of the person who rendered it ?

Can that be done ? This is with the goal to retrieve LDAP information to be able to login and authenticate when rendering a template (we have models methods called when rendering a config template that needs username/password and it should be retrieved through the active user rendering the config
