Proxmox Install Script Defaults to External NIC

If Netbox is to be used to map my internal network (home lab, etc.), then why would the install script be written to default to vmbr0 (the external NIC) instead of vmbr1 (the internal NIC where my devices live? Unless I'm missing something, I simply am not finding how to force the default to my internal NIC. Because of this I am having to build a VM and install from scratch because the script fails to complete due to no network access.
