Sadly i think there is no "real" answer. The whole Power parts needs to be entirely reworked if you want to model power distribution properly. We have e.g Central UPS -> many fuse and distri points -> room fuses/distri -> 3phase pdus -> devices And k never could model it properly you always have to have some compromises :( |

Hi there!
Im using NetBox in the Community Edition v4.4.7.
Currently im working on the power inventory and struggle a lot.
What is the best practise for building the power delivery in netbox? As of many forums they use
Power Panel -> Power Feed -> PowerPorts|PDU|Outlet -> PowerPort|Devices
Ive built it like this and connected the cables, when looking at the PSU from my device i can click all the way to the power feed, thats nice and logical. What doesnt work is the calculation. When i add the parameters to the PSU (e.g. 700W Max / 500W Allocated) it doesnt automaticly show up in the rack energy tab, only when adding the parameters to the PDU, which would mean i have to manually add the watteges of my devices to the PDU, which i cant believe is the way to do it.
Could someone help me?
Other thing: Logicly my power devices are more like this:
Power Panel -> Power Feed -> Rittal PSM Power Rail (3 Phases, multiple module slots)-> Multiple different PDUs plugged into that -> Devices. Ive read that people dont add the PSMs into netbox. Is that true? Could there be a way to add them into for documentation?
They are part of the rack and are important for the power phases.
Thanks in advance!
