Hi folks,
I wanted to take a moment to share some exciting updates about NetBox in case you haven't heard already.
@checktheroads (Matt Love) has joined the maintainers team! Matt has been spearheading the UI overhaul slated for the upcoming v2.12 release, something for which I, a decidedly non-frontend person, am deeply grateful. 🙂 Matt’s UI work has already been merged into the
feature
branch for anyone curious about it. (Please note that it’s still very much a work in progress, with lots of design work still to be completed.)I’ve joined @ns1! The NS1 leadership recognizes the potential that NetBox represents in the industry, and has committed to supporting its continued development as part of the company’s overall mission to deliver modern foundational infrastructure. Not only does this relieve a huge amount of stress on my part, it opens a ton of new opportunities for the project, and cements its status as the premiere open source SoT for network infrastructure.
Regarding my move to NS1, some people might understandably be a little nervous about the direction of the project. I want to offer my assurances that NetBox will remain an open source product licensed under Apache 2 as it always has been, and no steps are being taken to interfere with the community or development process. We’re going to keep expanding and improving NetBox as we always have, but now the project has got some serious muscle behind it!
Also, we’re working on setting up a more permanent version of the v2.11 beta demo instance, which has been decommissioned. I’ll be sure to post an announcement when that’s been completed, so keep an eye out.
