Feature Request: Support for OpenSearch Serverless & ElastiCache Memcached Serverless #1979
Description
Summary
New Relic does not currently support discovery for OpenSearch Serverless and ElastiCache Memcached Serverless within its entity-type model. Providing support for these services would allow New Relic users to have an entity for them, enabling the attachment to relevant workloads.
Desired Behavior
New Relic should provide entity-type support for:
- OpenSearch Serverless
- Automatic entity discovery of OpenSearch Serverless collections
- Centralize its metrics under the entity page
- Golden metrics should appear on the summary page of the entity
- ElastiCache Memcached Serverless
- Automatic entity discovery of ElastiCache Memcached Serverless caches
- Centralize its metrics under the entity page
- Golden metrics should appear on the summary page of the entity
ℹ This will allow users to include OpenSearch Serverless collections and ElastiCache Memcached Serverless caches under their workloads.
Possible Solution
Introduce an entity type for OpenSearch Serverless collection and an entity type for ElastiCache Memcached Serverless cache.
Additional context
Without these entity-type definitions, they do not show up in the workload's operational groups, making it more difficult to track alerting entities from a centralized place.
