Summary

In my current role new role I've been tasked with auditing a very old code base running PHP 5.6 on Ubuntu 14.04. This is code base is a tool used internally to manage a store doing tens of thousands in sales per day. It would take years to rebuild from scratch and isn't something I can simply shut down. In other words I need to keep the plane in the air while doing massive renovations.

While PHP Agent is still working I'm concerned in the future there will be no way for me to do audits on code like this using NewRelic. NewRelic is incredibly useful for me when I'm auditing old spaghetti code so I'd like to bring to your attention this use case where NewRelic is an invaluable tool.

Using NewRelic I'm able to quickly and with a high degree of accuracy figure out what is actually running in almost real time which allows me to quickly audit the code and come up with a clean upgrade process. Please consider keeping builds of NewRelic agent available for PHP versions that are out of support status. Thank You.
