Invitations from external systems do not take the standard calendar into account

Steps to reproduce

Invitation:

1. Set a default calendar (mine is third in calendar list)
2. Accept an invitation
3. Event has been added to first calendar in calendar list

New event:

1. Set a default calendar (mine is third in calendar list)
2. Create a new event in web view of calendar
3. Event has been added to first calendar in calendar list

Expected behavior

Invitation or new event should be added to my default calendar

Actual behavior

Invitation or new event are added to the first calendar is calendar list

Thanks for the report.

The default calendar not being selected when creating new event is a deliberate decision. See also nextcloud/calendar#5996. There were some confusing side effects and we decided to remove this feature.

Could you please elaborate how you accepted an invitation? Accepting in calendar would imply that the event is already present in some calendar.

The invitation was created on another system (exchange) . I accepted the invitation on the NC mail app.

This is a bug report/feature request for the Mail app then. The logic to create the event in the target calendar is implemented there.

My idea on how to implement it would be:

1. Get the user principal's default calendar (is probably already available).
2. Pre-select it in the calendar picker in Mail (src/components/Imip.vue).
