Federated users do not show online status in Talk rooms

Description

When using a Nextcloud Talk room via Federation, the online status of users from another Nextcloud server is not displayed.

Steps to reproduce

1. Set up two Nextcloud instances with Talk and Federation enabled.
2. Create a federated Talk room.
3. Join the room with users from both servers.
4. Check the participant list.

Expected behavior

The online/offline status of all participants should be displayed, including federated users.

Actual behavior

The online status of users from the remote/federated server is not shown.

Environment

• Nextcloud: Nextcloud Hub 26 Spring 34.0.2
• Talk: 0.18.1
• Federation: enabled

Do you mean online/offline as having a session in current conversation?
Or online/away/busy/dnd/custom as from separate user_status app?

I mean the online/offline status. I also don't see when someone is marked as away in the User Status app.
In general, for federated users I only see a globe icon instead of their actual online/away/offline status.

Ok, so for the note:

• online/offline (transparent icon) works as expected;
• 'online/busy status' from user_status is not implemented, as remote server doesn't have access to it at the moment
