Ability to Forward Received Files Directly in Nextcloud Desktop

I find it frustrating that in Nextcloud Desktop, when I receive a file, I need to download it first before I can forward it to someone else. This extra step can be time-consuming, especially when I want to share files quickly.

It would be great if we could directly forward files that have been sent to us without having to download them first. This feature would allow users to share received files with other individuals or groups seamlessly.

Currently, the only option is to download the file and then resend it, which introduces unnecessary steps in the process.

This feature would enhance the user experience by streamlining file sharing within the Nextcloud ecosystem, making it more efficient for users who frequently collaborate and share files.

The biggest question is whether you would want to reshare the original file, or a copy.
Similarly the owner of the first file might not agree to "reshare" it, and that should not change the steps a user would need to do I guess.

You raised an interesting point. I think having both options for forwarding, meaning the ability to forward a copy as well as the original file, could make the feature more appealing and efficient.

I’m looking for a solution to easily forward a file that I receive in Talk, either by sharing a copy of the file or the original file itself.

This feature would eliminate the need to first download the file or image and then re-upload it for sharing. It would save time and significantly improve the ease of use.
