Audio-only call doesn't establish incoming audio connection for remote side

We have a setup with our own hosted HPB and janus+coturn as an MCU. When using the Talk iOS app and initiating an audio-only call, with the other side being in the browser (and therefore defaulting to a video call), quite often the receiving audio connection to listen to the other side fails to be established (the sending connection always works).

When initiating a video call instead from the app, everything works fine.

I already checked the logs of the iOS app, and there's nothing in there (I'd be happy to enable debug logging and share more logs if possible).

Looking at debug logs from Janus it looks like simply no candidate is chosen on the iOS Talk side.

So just to be clear here:

• You start an audio only call on iOS
• You accept the call in the browser
• You're able to hear the iOS user in the browser, but are unable to hear the browser user on iOS

Is that right?

What happens if you initiate an audio only call on iOS, but answer the call on an iOS device? Does it then work?

Looks like it happens with Safari on the other side, but not every time. So far it seems like it happens when a session in safari was around for a while, because after reloading the tab in Safari, things are fine.

Edit: Actually, reloading the page in safari doesn't seem to work every time. But it's definitely somehow involving the combination of Safari on the publisher side and iOS on the receiver.

That is Safari on MacOS, right? Or is it Mobile Safari on iOS?
