The enhance the version view in the sidebar, opt-in enabled AI can offer to create a summary between the versions for a better overview of the changes and a generally better and more welcoming experience.
- A simple "Generate summary" button for every version would be a basic first step, but not full vision.
- It would be nice to automatically start generating when you open the "Versions" sidebar, and show "Generating summary…" feedback, starting of course with the most recent version.
- Versions can be very small so it doesn’t make sense to generate a summary for all of them, but the LLM can help with grouping too.
- We have to watch the load of course:
- This is why it is only shown on opening the Versions tab
- We of course should cache the summaries as they are the same for everyone
