refactor(vm): remove dead code from ELF loader tests

Removes unused test helper functions and their associated dead code annotations from the ELF loader module, improving code maintainability and reducing noise.

Eh, this code might be useful at some point and dead code in a test framework is pretty low cruft, so I'm going to leave it.
