In some private communication, other maybe useful categories were mentioned, especially ORGANISM and ONTOLOGY.
Here my thoughts:
- I could agree to adding "ORGANISM" as it is sufficiently different from the existing categories and could be useful for bio catalysis.
- I am against adding ONTOLOGY (which is just a DATA_OBJECT in current classification). The category "ontology" is a too specific: It does neither include other terminologies like our voc4cat-SKOS-vocabulary nor does it include other data schemas.
- In principle adding ONTOLOGY would create sub-categories of DATA_OBJECT. I believe that such sub-classification should not happen add the PID level but at the metadata level of DATA_OBJECT resources (in another schema).
