💡How to get information on ID ranges and my already used IDs?

Hi,

I am currently trying to extend the voc4cat, but I face a challenge that is relatively easy to tackle, yet annoying, and which should be relatively easy to fix. I need to determine which of my IDs are already in use, are likely reserved because another submission is in progress, are scattered throughout features, or are available again since a particular concept was not accepted. I will do so myself, no problem here, since, like I said, it's only tedious.

Since there would be many possible solutions to this, but I don't know which is the easiest in terms of the current code base, I won't make a recommendation. Neither is such a feature required.

An easy way and how I do this is to use a column filter in Excel for the "Concept IRIs" column to filter on the currently used range, which for you is 7101..7200. For the filter you can take advantage of the fact that IDs have 7 digits, so use the string "00071".

We have been thinking about adding a skos:notation column with the pure numeric ID for the next template version (nfdi4cat/voc4cat-tool#124) but have not finally decided. That would enable filtering on numbers which is more flexible than the current string-filtering.

What could also be helpful is to create another sheet in the xlsx file that lists the reserved ID ranges for each contributor including the last used ID in each range. Currently it is probably difficult to remember for an occasional user where to find the ID range information (it is in https://github.com/nfdi4cat/voc4cat/blob/main/idranges.toml).

I would classify this as "nice to have" feature with low priority. I am not sure when we have time to add it (for sure after nfdi4cat/voc4cat-tool#124).

With v1.0 of the xlsx template we'll have a sheet that lists the ID ranges for all contributors, the number of unused IDs and the next free ID. This feature will be available after migrating voc4cat to use voc4cat-too v1.0.0 which is not too far away (< 4 wks).

The xlsx files generated now (after #229 was merged) have an extra sheet with IDrange information.
