[Feature Request] indicate errors in git commands

The user gets not visual feedback when something goes wrong during git commit/ push etc. For a someone with more knowledge of git, command line it might be possible to detect error messages but for the average user it is not.

I would propose some sort of feedback, such that the user knows something went wrong like, red window or popup.

It is not that trivial because git per default prints to std::err even when nothing is wrong. We could search the log for common errors and display something when these strings appear somewhere, but this is of course not reliable.

no matter where it prints to, processes have return codes: 0 for success, all other numbers error

in bash you can see that for the last command with echo $? , usually you will have a way to get the returncodes for subprocesses if you call them from a higher level/ scripting language
