question: custom collections

Thank for such great parser!
I am wondering if it is possible to replace existing vanilla collections with a custom implementations? Using extends or Override key words ?

I will assume by replacing you mean to provide alternative implementation to deserialize collections into different types?
For most use cases you can register your own analyzer and redirect them to some other collection: https://github.com/ngs-doo/dsl-json/blob/master/library/src/main/java/com/dslplatform/json/runtime/CollectionAnalyzer.java#L111
Otherwise you can register your own custom types to affect specific collection type: https://github.com/ngs-doo/dsl-json/blob/master/library/src/main/java/com/dslplatform/json/DslJson.java#L1076
Or provide your own factory to detect such type: https://github.com/ngs-doo/dsl-json/blob/master/library/src/main/java/com/dslplatform/json/DslJson.java#L1051
