old distutils version #2
Description
I'm only able to install specfab with an older version of setuptools (< 65). The way Python packages get built is all changing, which unfortunately will create some problems for installing specfab. See the note here about 2fpy and distutils.
There is a migration path based on the meson build system (see this). I have used meson before and found it to be pretty easy to use. Changing the build system for specfab to use meson could be a good long-term solution to this issue.
