Error checking devel updates when there is a pkgmirror down

Me again sorry. Following the commit #46 fixing #51 the devel update check fails every time on my system. Pacman and AUR work as expected.

Edit: I'm thinking my memory is just bad and the issue started a few days after the update... maybe

It seems I missed an obvious point until directly after posting this, instead I'm suspecting it is to do with one of the AUR package mirrors in Australia currently being down and the check not being able to handle this. Pacman and regular AUR update checking in the applet works normally, and actually updating with yay --devel completes successfully.

Funny, I'm in Aus too and was also getting the same errors from paru when updating.

I suspect this is unrelated - from what I can see, that's a core/extra mirror, not AUR.

If you run the applet in the terminal cosmic-applet-arch, you will get the error messages if there are any. Could you please post here?

PS: try reflector to re-rank your mirrors and remove the dead one :)

I realise I forgot a very crucial piece of evidence to back up my report, Reflector and manually removing the dead one fixed it. I dont know why it works, just that it did. If I refresh the applet refresh directly after running reflector the scan works immediately, devel updates and all. Devel update check only rarely fails
