Currently you can just delete a partition, you can't disable it.
I have redundancy with my alarm system. It runs within HA as Alarmo but operates as a standalone Alarm System from the Panel with Automations to keep the two systems in Sync. I do this as the alarm is professionally monitored and needs to run by itself and know what triggered the alarm, I trigger automations from its sensors so I need to pull them into HA, and I like Alarmos Cards 1000x,better than any other alarm cards.
My alarm has an API and Direct connection integration option. Both have their pros and cons as they both have different dependencies and have temporarily been down in the past. If I could easily enable or disable a partition with a toggle switch, I could have a fail over connection to my alarm system should it ever break.
I realize that this is a very unique use case but I feel like this could possibly be useful for other situations.
