Adding a comment in the target from a field in the source

Maybe I'm missing it, but how do I map a field in the source to a new comment in the target? Since a comment isn't just a field but is a list. I didn't see this addressed in other discussions, but I may be searching incorrectly.

I see that system.history has the comments.

I added this map:

It works, but it adds this value twice. I get 2 separate comments. Any suggestions on how to get just one? I only have one FieldToFieldMap

After some more testing, I believe what it is doing is overwriting each entry in the comment history. Is there a way to append to the comment history?

Thw way System.History works is that on save its content becomes the comment.
