Upcoming quarto versions will include a brand-specific extension type (quarto-dev/quarto-cli#13193) and url-hosted logos (quarto-dev/quarto-cli#12643). We should incorporate this and update our extension when the new version is released to eliminate some of the hacky work-arounds that we've needed to use previously.
