I would like to propose a NIP catered for representing workspaces — bounded organizational groups with membership lists, extensible capability tags, channels, and end-to-end encrypted messaging via MLS. This would help projects like what I'm doing at Lemonwire better adhere to the vision of Nostr by allowing membership enforcement, administrative capabilities, and scoped communication powered by MLS/Marmot. Each workspace would be backed by a norg key (organizational key) — a separate keypair whose sole purpose is to sign membership attestations. This allows the workspace owner to delegate org-level signing without exposing their personal key, and gives members a lightweight way to prove affiliation without replaying the entire membership delta chain.
