Fallback for self hosted cache

Maybe someone already has a workaround.

We are looking to improve our CI with a self hosted remote cache but we are quite scared of what would happen if our cache server falls down.
Currently, if I enter a dummy address for our self hosted cache, the build fails.
A fallback to local cache with a warning would make more sense.
