We are so excited to announce that we are soliciting Concept Notes for the Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) Sustainability Fund.
We will accept Concept Notes until May 7, 2026. Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal after that date.
The FOSS Sustainability Fund makes targeted investments in the long-term maintainability, interoperability, reproducibility, security, and resilience of the internet freedom technology ecosystem. This ecosystem includes amongst other technologies, circumvention tools (like VPNs), secure messaging apps, shutdown-resilient tools, anti-censorship and privacy-preserving technologies, as well as these tools’ foundational software infrastructure (upstream dependencies).
Please review the Fund’s solicitation webpage to understand the full scope, eligibility requirements, timeline, multi-stage process, funding ranges, and other key information before applying.
