Hi @fonnesbeck,

Thanks for resubmitting this proposal. A Numba default backend for PyMC sounds like a very impactful direction, especially for lowering barriers to high-performance inference without requiring JAX.

I’m currently learning PyMC internals and Numba-based acceleration, and I’m very interested in contributing to performance-related improvements in PyMC more broadly. I’ll continue following development in this area.
