debuffs on nameplates not working when in istances

Simply put, they trigger lots of LUA errors due to opertaions on secret values, following is the lua error. Just wanted to know if it's a bug, something that cannot be fixed or something that's in the works. Thanks.

What sort of instance? I've done plenty follower and timewalking dungeons without any issues.

Yeah you can't deal with cooldowns like that for practically anything but skyriding stuff and some class powers, everything else will be secret in combat. There are other ways to handle this, using curves and the new APIs and widget methods from 12.0.0, but I'll leave that as an exercise for you.

For your actual issue though, you'll just have to go through the process of elimination, because I doubt there's an issue in oUF right now that could cause this. I've raided with oUF just fine, so my guess is something you've done in your layout.

i found the issue. Why it is like this i don't know.

i changed this
Debuffs:SetPoint("BOTTOMLEFT", Name, "TOPLEFT", 0, 26)
to this
Debuffs:SetPoint("BOTTOMLEFT", self, "TOPLEFT", 0, 26)

and the errors are gone. Literally going by exclusion and by chance (i removed everything and started adding one piece at a time when i realized that if i wanted to see the debuffs i had to change where they spawned even without all the other elements).

Hope it means something more because i am baffled :D

You using tags to change the text on Name?

Either way, if you set something like UnitName on a fontstring the size of that fontstring will now become secret (inherited from UnitName), which in turn will make it impossible to get the width of other elements anchored to that position.

I removed all my custom tags and i just use this
self:Tag(self.Name, "[name]")

Maybe that's the reason, but the Debuff frame is parented to self and not Name. It was literally just anchored to the Name frame (for easier alignment).

EDIT: now it makes perfect sense. Maybe i would have fixed it in time but never understood the reason. Thnaks a lot!
(now i'll have to fix party and raid and i'll be done).

Yeah that tag will return secret strings.
