In my vault I have one file to manage my current Home Routine But as you can see there's a problem: After I complete recurring task it does not disappear, but stays marked as done. In my situation querying tasks isn't the best solution, because I want to query these tasks in other files (e.g. Daily Notes), while the query contains Is there an easy alternative to that? |

Unfortunately, it is currently not possible to hide tasks which are actually in the file. The preview currently shows all tasks that exist in the file on disk, regardless the status. What I do with recurring tasks is this: I add a block at the bottom of the file that is called something like This way, the tasks show up twice in the preview, but I usually ignore the bottom section with the long list of recurring tasks. Handling recurring tasks is an unsolved problem for “Obsidian Tasks”. In #130 was a suggestion to add recurring tasks to their respective daily notes. On the one hand that pulls them apart, on the other hand they don’t have context in the daily note and I usually don’t want to create daily notes in advance. The template could change by the time that day comes around, for example. If you have any other ideas, I am very open to them. Maybe some kind of global setting to hide every “done recurring” task in preview? That sounds too general, but maybe it’s a start 🤔 |

I haven't found anything that would help in the Markdown side of things; however, I use a plugin called Completed Task Display (hope it is alright to mention this plugin). In the Preview mode, click on this button and the task will be removed if you indicated that the task is done. |
