How do i target tasks in daily notes ( AKA why doesnt this work: tasks filename includes {{date:YYYY-MM-DD}} )

I'd expect something like this to work, but it doesnt:

filename includes {{date:YYYY-MM-DD}}

If i hardcode the value, it works

filename includes 2023-02-19

Hi, I'm not exactly sure what you are wanting to do, but just to note that strings like {{date:YYYY-MM-DD}} are instructions for templating plugins to take a date and expand it to a string based on a date.

This is not something that Tasks supports.

So this search:

filename includes {{date:YYYY-MM-DD}}

... literally searches for tasks in files whose names contain the exact text {{date:YYYY-MM-DD}}.

There is a little Tasks documentation about using templating plugins to write templates to generate your daily-note files:

I actually had found that page, and the reason that made me think that it was possible, was cause of this, on the same documentation page:

Oh good point, I didn’t write those docs, but it does look wrong.

Reading the paragraph before in the docs, it explains why those two rows are the same with Daily notes.

Ah, i just thought of a simpler way of doing it.
My daily notes are in a specific folder, so i could just do:

```tasks
not done
path includes _daily
